REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
Visual and Event Design Services: CelebrAsians 2027 & AWFH 2026 Impact Report
Asian Women for Health (AWFH) is seeking a visual designer or small creative studio to support two major organizational projects: the visual identity and event design for our CelebrAsians 2027 Annual Gala and the design of our AWFH 2026 Impact Report.
AWFH is a community-based nonprofit committed to advancing health equity for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) women and other historically marginalized communities. We are looking for a collaborative designer who can translate our mission, impact, and community-centered approach into thoughtful, accessible, and engaging visual storytelling.
CelebrAsians 2027 Annual Gala
CelebrAsians is AWFH’s annual signature fundraising event, bringing together community members, partners, health professionals, advocates, funders, and supporters to celebrate community leadership and advance AWFH’s mission.
The selected designer will develop the core visual identity for CelebrAsians 2027 and apply that identity across priority promotional and event materials.
Anticipated deliverables include:
- Core event visual identity, including logo/theme treatment, key visual direction, color palette, typography, and supporting graphic elements
- Social media promotional template(s)
- Priority event signage and sponsor recognition templates
- Final print, digital, and editable/source files
The final list of collateral will be prioritized with the selected designer based on event needs, timeline, and available budget.
We are looking for a visual direction that feels hopeful, warm, energetic, contemporary, and community-centered while remaining sophisticated enough for a signature fundraising event. The identity should reflect the diversity of AANHPI communities without relying on cultural stereotypes or generic representations of Asian identity.
AWFH 2026 Impact Report
AWFH is also seeking design support for its 2026 Impact Report, with design work anticipated to take place from January–February 2027. AWFH will provide finalized or near-finalized written content, program data, photographs, community stories, and other source materials. The designer will transform these materials into a cohesive, accessible, and visually compelling report that communicates AWFH’s programs, outcomes, community reach, and organizational impact.
Anticipated length: 10–15 pages
Anticipated deliverables include:
- Overall creative direction and report design
- Cover and interior page layout
- Typography and visual hierarchy
- Presentation of program outcomes and organizational data
- Simple charts, infographics, icons, or other data visualizations, as appropriate
- Integration of photography, quotes, and community stories
- Final digital-ready and print-ready report
- Editable/source files
The report should be visually engaging and easy to navigate while keeping AWFH’s communities, stories, and impact at the center. Accessibility – including legibility, color contrast, information hierarchy, and clear presentation of data – should be considered throughout the design.
Budget & Timeline
- Total Project Budget: Up to $4,000
- Project Period: November 2026–February 2027
Anticipated Timeline
- Designer Selected/Designer Kick-Off: October–November 2026
- CelebrAsians Visual Identity Development: November–December 2026
- 2026 Impact Report design: January–February 2027
The budget is intended to cover both projects. Proposals should clearly describe what is included in the proposed fee, including the number of initial concepts and revision rounds. Any significant work outside the mutually agreed-upon scope will be discussed and approved separately.
AWFH will coordinate printing and fabrication. Paid photography, specialized illustration, stock imagery, font licensing, printing, fabrication, and other third-party expenses are not expected to be included in the design fee unless specifically identified in the proposal.
What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong visual storytelling, publication/editorial design, and event branding or visual identity experience, as well as the ability to design effectively across print and digital formats.
We value designers who are collaborative, responsive, culturally thoughtful, attentive to accessibility, and comfortable creating flexible visual systems that can be adapted across multiple materials. Experience with nonprofit, public health, community-based, AANHPI, or women-focused organizations is welcomed but not required.
How to Apply
Please submit a brief proposal that includes:
- Short introduction and relevant experience
- Portfolio or examples of relevant work, particularly impact/annual reports and event or identity design
- Brief description of your approach to the engagement
- Availability through March 2027
- Proposed fee and scope within the available budget
- Number of initial concepts and revision rounds included
- Any anticipated additional costs, exclusions, or scope considerations
Proposal Deadline: Monday – October 19, 2026
Please submit proposals to: Careers@AsianWomenforHealth.org, with the Subject: CelebrAsians 2027 Design RFP Proposal – [Designer/Studio Name]
AWFH may invite a small number of applicants to a brief conversation before making a final selection. Speculative or unpaid design work is not required as part of the application process.
