Hey there! My name is Billy (he/him), and I am rooted in the Greater Boston area after immigrating here at the young age of three with my parents. I am a product of the region’s working-class, multiracial, and immigrant communities that have organized for decades toward a more just and equitable quality of life.

Currently, I am a queer youth worker and organizer in Dorchester. I aim to integrate trauma-informed and transformative justice frameworks, along with an arts and cultural lens, into the grassroots anti-displacement organizing work I’m involved in. I also recently graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in RCD (Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora) Studies with History and Asian American Studies minors. I am carrying forward the place-based public history work I started in college, continuing to tell the lesser-known stories of the communities that raised me. I love finding creative ways to do this, through zines, popular education workshops, community exhibitions, oral histories, and walking tours.

Outside of my community organizing and creative public history work, I love collecting blind boxes and Pokémon plushies, watching sitcoms, going to concerts, listening to pop music, trying new recipes, writing creatively, and learning amateur photography.

I have lived experience in areas such as growing up gay in a low-income Chinese immigrant household, serving as my family’s translator from a young age, living in public housing, and engaging in community organizing/work as a young person. I also relate deeply to attending to self-advocacy and personal needs, identifying as first-generation and low-income both within and outside of a college setting, navigating cultural expectations and values, and attending a predominantly white institution (PWI) while coping with imposter syndrome.

I’m truly honored to support you in meeting your needs and to walk alongside you in your mental health journey. You can schedule a time through my Calendly link whenever you’re ready to begin working together!
