SUMMARY:NAAAP Community Event: Queer AAPI Coping and Emotional Regulation Workshop
DESCRIPTION:While this is not an AWFH event\, NAAAP is one of our community partners. \nNAAAP Boston Pride is excited to share with you a new\, monthly mental health and wellness series. Join us for a variety of workshops\, guided activities\, small group discussions\, speaker and educational sessions designed to promote the mental health of our Greater Boston queer Asian American community. This series aims to create a safe and inclusive space for us to come together\, share our experiences\, and engage in meaningful conversations. \nThe workshop will include guided practices introducing evidence-based strategies that can be used in everyday life for managing stress and overwhelm. Drawing from DBT\, ACT\, and mindfulness practices\, attendees will have an opportunity to practice each skill and explore how and when they may be helpful. The goal is to leave attendees with a small\, practical toolkit of coping strategies they can draw from when they need to slow down and become more present to ultimately respond to challenging emotions with greater awareness and intention. \nImportant notes: \n1. This event is centered around the AAPI LGBTQ+ community. Please respect and honor the safe space that NAAAP Boston creates in our events. \n2. The workshop facilitator is currently receiving training within mental healthcare. Note that this event is intended to be primarily educational and is not therapy. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis\, please seek assistance from a licensed mental health professional. \nPlease complete the following survey to voice your mental health-related needs and interests to help us keep these events as supportive as possible! Your feedback will help shape the topics and conversations we bring to future workshops and events. \nFor other questions or financial assistance\, please reach out to pride@naaapboston.org. \nFor more about NAAAP Boston\, please visit our website at www.naaapboston.org   \nThe National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) is the largest and fastest-growing leadership organization for Asian and Asian American professionals in Boston and across North America – with 30 chapters\, several thousand active members\, and a reach of more than 20\,000 professionals. Founded in 1982\, NAAAP is a volunteer-run non-profit that inspires\, develops\, and connects leaders across industries and communities through networking and educational events\, trainings\, community service programs\, and celebrations of Asian American excellence. \nRegister Here
