Boston, MA – October 14, 2025 — Asian Women for Health is proud to announce that our Executive Director, Colleen M. Nguyen, MPH, has been named one of the de Beaumont Foundation’s 40 Under 40 in Public Health. The Foundation’s Class of 2025 honors emerging leaders from across the nation whose innovative work is strengthening state and local public health systems and advancing health equity.
“The 40 Under 40 Class of 2025 is a high-achieving, passionate group of professionals whose accomplishments and experience showcase the very best of the public health field,” said Brian C. Castrucci, DrPH, president and CEO of the de Beaumont Foundation. “I look forward to working with them to advance health outcomes in communities across the nation.”
Colleen’s leadership has strengthened efforts to expand health access, representation, and inclusion for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities across Massachusetts. She champions culturally responsive, community-engaged approaches that address language access, workforce development, representation in research, and mental well-being. Grounded in lived experience and collaboration, her work ensures that AANHPI voices are heard, valued, and reflected in programs and policies that shape community health.
“I’m honored to be recognized among such inspiring leaders who are advancing health in their communities,” said Colleen M. Nguyen, Executive Director of Asian Women for Health. “This recognition reflects the collective work of so many who believe in the power of representation and lived experience. By lifting up community voices and creating space for healing and belonging, we move closer to a public health system that truly serves everyone.”
In addition to Nguyen, this year’s class honors leaders from 22 states who exemplify the determination, innovation, and compassion driving the public health field forward. A panel of public health experts evaluated nominees for their leadership, vision, cross-sector collaboration, and community impact. Through this recognition and a year-long professional development program, honorees will build a strong national network, learn from their peers, and expand the reach and effectiveness of their work.
