We want to share an important leadership update with our community. After leading Asian Women for Health (AWFH) into a new era with her dedicated service during her two-year tenure as Executive Director, Naheed Esar has decided to move on to other opportunities. During her time at AWFH, the organization has expanded its impact, strengthening its commitment to education, advocacy, and peer support for Asian women’s health and well-being.

As we bid farewell to Naheed, we are thrilled to welcome Colleen M. Nguyen as our new Executive Director. Colleen brings extensive experience in public health, community engagement, and health equity, along with a deep passion for uplifting the voices of marginalized communities.

Colleen M. Nguyen, Executive Director

“I am honored to step into this role and build upon Asian Women for Health’s incredible legacy. Health equity is deeply personal to me, and I look forward to working alongside our amazing team, board, and community members to continue advocating for and supporting the well-being of our communities.”

– Colleen M. Nguyen

While leadership changes bring fresh opportunities, our mission and the services we offer remain unchanged. AWFH remains deeply committed to enhancing the health and well-being of Asians, women, and other underrepresented communities through community-led initiatives, advocacy, and peer support. Our dedicated team, board members, and volunteers continue to drive this mission forward, strengthening our impact every day.

We encourage you to join us in expressing gratitude to Naheed and welcoming Colleen as we embark on this next chapter together. Stay connected for upcoming events and opportunities to get involved, including CelebrAsians on May 29th at The Charles Hotel!
