Community Health Education + Empowerment

Many Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) and underserved communities face unique challenges – from language barriers and cultural stigmas to difficulties navigating the healthcare system. These obstacles can delay care, worsen outcomes, and create unnecessary stress.

Asian Women for Health’s Community Health Education + Empowerment Program addresses these barriers by equipping individuals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to advocate for themselves and their communities.

What We Do:

  • Interactive Workshops: Culturally tailored sessions on mental health, cancer prevention, chronic disease management, healthcare access, and more, typically engaging 10-25+ participants per session, depending on the topic.
  • Safe Spaces for Dialogue: Judgment-free environments where community members can openly share experiences, ask questions, and learn together.
  • Resource Development: Culturally and linguistically tailored resource guides, created from community input and shared broadly.

Peer Mentorship & Health Literacy: One-on-one mentorship and literacy support, informed by community needs and guided by our Community Health Workers.

Impact Highlights:

  • Multilingual resources in 5+ languages, ensuring accessibility for diverse AANHPI communities
  • Culturally tailored workshops and dialogues engaging 10–25+ participants per session
  • Peer mentorship and health literacy support helping individuals confidently navigate healthcare and social services

By fostering awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting understanding, we are breaking down barriers to care and advancing health equity across Greater Boston and Massachusetts.
